Hawks’ teams ready to start 2010 season

Host Somers Point this weekend

HAMMONTON—The 2009 season was another solid one for the Hammonton Hawks football program, as the varsity team capped an undefeated season with an Atlantic County Junior Football League championship. Many of the players from that team are gone, and the Hawks varsity, along with its junior varsity and pee wee teams will try to rebuild themselves into championship form beginning this weekend when they host Somers Point in exhibition action at Hammonton Lake Park.


 

 


 

 

Gatley begins 10th year overseeing HHS sports

HAMMONTON—A single dollar bill sits in the top drawer of Mike Gatley’s desk.
Hammonton High School’s athletic director, who just began his 10th year at that position, keeps it there as a reminder of how few thought he’d last six months, much less 10 years at the position.
