OBITUARIES

 

 

Theresa (Tess) DeMarco, (nee Delareto) of Hammonton, died suddenly on March 25, 2008, at home.
Theresa was born in Elm and lived in Hammonton for 61 years. She worked as a seamstress for Joseph R. Palma & Son in Hammonton and was a member of the Amalgamated Clothing Workers Union of America. Tess also worked as a manager at Delareto’s in Absecon.
Predeceased by: parents, Philip and Lillian Delareto; husband whom she was married to for 41 years, Bill DeMarco; brothers, Sam, Phil, Anthony, Joseph. Surviving her are: daughter, Bridget (Bunny) Cassario and her husband Patrick of Hammonton; grandchildren, Judy Cassario, Sharon DiGerolamo and her husband Mario, P.J. Cassario; sister, Marie DeMarco of Hammonton; brother, Rocco Delareto of Galloway Township; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on March 28 at St. Joseph’s R.C. Church followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hammonton Rescue Squad, 300 S. Egg Harbor Road, Hammonton, NJ 08037, or to the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital, P.O. Box 437, Hammonton, NJ 08037.

Anthony J. Celona, 95, died March 24, 2008, at the Atlantic City Medical Center.
Tony was born in Hammonton and was a lifelong resident of the town. He owned and operated his own business, Tony’s Friendly Service, on the corner of 12th and Washington Streets, for 35 years. He retired at the age of 69. Tony’s passions were his family, casino trips, and playing cards.
Predeceased by: loving wife of 65 years, Thelma E. Celona. Surviving him are: sisters, Anna Berenato, Grace Mazzagatti both of Hammonton; sisters-in-law, Ginger Celona, Elizabeth Celona; son, Anthony P. Celona and his wife Barbara of Hammonton; daughter, Joyce Papaycik and her husband Jim of Bargaintown, N.J.; grandchildren, Andrea and Anthony Celona both of Hammonton; many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on March 31 at St. Martin de Porres R.C. Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Michael A. Campione, 50, of Hammonton, died March 25, 2008.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. He was a member of the Laborers Local No. 222 before his illness. Michael had a great love for music and was a talented rock and blues guitarist and vocalist. He performed with various local musicians.
Predeceased by: father, George N. Campione Sr. Surviving him are: children, Melissa Brower, Michael A. Campione Jr.; mother, Antoinette Campione; sister and brother-in-law, Teresa Ann and Bill DelRossi; brother, George Campione Jr.; three grandchildren; companion, Ruth Wise.
Funeral services were private, and burial was held at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the charity of donor’s choice.

Donald M. DiBona, 71, of Hammonton, died March 24, 2008, in Orlando, Fla.
Born in Philadelphia, he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. He retired as a heavy operator and as a member of Local 825 Operating Engineers. Donald was a member of the National Guard.
Predeceased by: son, Donald Jr. Surviving him are: daughters, Suzanne Bertino and her husband Bobby, Kathi Gallagher and her husband Charlie of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Shannon Bertino, Robert Bertino, C.J. Gallagher; great-granddaughter, Alyssa Bertino; brothers, Frank DiBona, Michael DiBona; sister, Marion Lombardo all of Hammonton; soul mate, Pauline Triboletti and her son Ray.
Relatives and friends attended a Mass of Christian Burial on March 29 at St. Anthony Church followed by burial at Greenmount Cemetery.

Belma Mae Jimenez, 81, of Buena Acres, died March 25, 2008, at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital.
Born in Anniston, Ala., she was a resident of Buena Acres for many years. Mrs. Jimenez retired in 1986 and was a waitress at the Wm. B. Kessler Memorial Hospital snack bar. She also worked at the Triangle Diner in Penny Pot.
Surviving her are: husband, Ramiro; daughter, Belinda; son, Thomas.
Relatives and friends attended funeral services on March 28 at the Landolfi Funeral Home. Interment was at Friendship Cemetery in Landisville.
