HAMMONTON—On Tuesday, May 20, Dorothy Inferrera Orlandini will be presented with the Greater Hammonton Chamber of Commerce’s “Nice Going” Award, and Polyvel Inc. will be receiving the Industry of the Year Award.
Orlandini serves on the board of the Hammonton Revitalization Corporation (HRC) and the Foundation of Kessler Memorial Hospital. She is an emeritus member of the Chamber of Commerce.
Orlandini owns Baskets by Inferreras and is an owner of Inferrera’s Market.
“Looking at all of the potential candidates, Dottie’s name came up for her service. She is a quiet leader. The purpose of the award is to honor our unsung heroes,” Chamber President Joe Pantalone said.
“I am deeply honored,” Orlandini said.
“Dottie has been an inspiration as an outstanding volunteer, as a board member with vision for our downtown, as a merchant serving as a role model for other small business owners and as a person. She will continue to inspire other people to be proud of their community and to be proud of their downtown,” HRC President Linda Cashan said.
Polyvel Inc., located at 100 Ninth Street, is “a specialty additive concentrate producer committed to the development and marketing of superior thermoplastic additive concentrates,” according to the company’s website www.polyvel.com.
“We try to look throughout the town for businesses that have made a mark both locally and regionally and somewhat internationally. It was a decision amongst the folks that we count on internally, and it was a pretty logical choice,” Pantalone said.
“It is nice to be recognized by the committee and the community. We are pleased to have been chosen,” Polyvel Inc. President Brian Tidwell said.
Pantalone said recipients in recent years “have put their mark on Hammonton in bringing an international market to know where we are in the world.”
“That is why we will honor,” Polyvel, Pantalone said.
The Chamber will also honor new businesses and businesses that have renovated or expanded. In addition, Golden Legacy Awards will be presented.
This year’s banquet is being held at Kerri Brooke Caterers on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton.
Tickets are $40 each. Dinner choices are baked salmon or sauteed chicken breast with Italian herbs. Call 561-9080 to purchase tickets.
Surrounding the banquet room will be display tables from local and area businesses.
If your business is interested in having a display table at the event, call 561-9080.
