Last week, The Gazette received an email from the town regarding improving local cable Channel 9. In the interest of full transparency, The Gazette sent a bid in which we requested our newspaper work with the town on the project. This newspaper already works with the town in a number of ways, promoting the municipality and its employees through The Gazette’s coverage, in everything from articles to photos to legal notices.
We enjoy working with the town of Hammonton, a working relationship we have had since 1997.
In our bid, we outlined the many services this newspaper and its staff can contribute to the municipality’s effort to revamp Channel 9. Our employees are well-versed in what happens in the community. Most of our staff either grew up in Hammonton, have lived here for more than two decades, or have covered the town for more than two decades.
The Gazette staff is comprised mostly of taxpaying citizens of Hammonton, and the building that houses The Gazette also pays taxes here, so we are invested in the community and would love to have the opportunity to assist the municipal government of Hammonton as they make Channel 9 even better.
As taxpayers, we understand that this project should be done at an affordable price during these difficult economic times.
From municipal government news to special events, from weather to sports, we believe The Gazette’s longstanding knowledge and passion for the town will help the municipality transform Channel 9 into something special.
We look forward to hearing from the town about how we can assist them with this exciting new project.
