Amelia D. Masi



Amelia D. Masi (nee Previte), 89, of Buena, N.J. passed away on Wednesday, May 18, 2022 at Inspira, Vineland after an extended illness.


She was affectionately known to all as Amy. Born in Hammonton, N.J., she spent most of her life there until moving to Buena, N.J. in 1999. Amy started her young life, after attending St. Joseph High School, by marrying the leading jockey of the nation, Joe Culmone in 1950. Born of that marriage, were her three beloved daughters.


Amy was a homemaker and was known for her delicious meatballs and her famous homemade iced tea. She loved to cook for her family. Prior to falling ill, Amy loved her trips to the Casinos in Atlantic City. Amy traveled extensively throughout her life. She lived in Wales, U.K., with her second husband for three years, and traveled through Europe during that time. She also treated her parents to a trip to Italy.


Amy is predeceased by her parents, John (Fox) and Sue Previte; her husband, Joseph H Masi; her beloved daughter, Joanne; and her beloved sister and best friend in life, Beverly Corsiglia of Vineland, N.J.


She is survived by her two daughters, Debbie Zane and Cheri Culmone; two grandchildren, Kevin Zane and Margaret Prus; one great-grandson, Cyrus Cross; and three stepchildren, Joseph Masi, Paul Masi and Denise Rizzo (Frank). She will be sadly missed by her niece, nephews, cousins and friends.


Services will be held privately, followed by burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton.
