Anthony J. Pagano



Anthony J. Pagano (Tony) was born in Rosedale on August 11, 1933 to John and Angelina Pagano.


Tony attended St. Joseph’s School, graduating in 1950. He entered the U.S. Navy in 1953 and spent 18 months on the USS Hornet on a United States Goodwill Tour. After being discharged, he spent four years working in construction. In 1960 he obtained his real estate license and spent three years in real estate sales. In 1964 Tony partnered with another real estate agent and opened Carriage Realty and Construction Co. in Berlin and Cherry Hill. His other business ventures included Continental Land Development Corp., Brigantine Blvd. Assoc., Cedar Brook Assoc. and Pepperwood Corp. In 1977 Tony incorporated the A.J. Pagano Construction Co., Inc. Tony was a member of the Winslow Kiwanis Club; Waterford Twp., Lion’s Club, Waterford Twp MUA and the Atco Planning Board and a partner with Arrow Mortgage Company. Tony loved fishing and participating in Bass Tournaments, and enjoyed watching Phillies baseball and Eagles Football. He was an active member of St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Tony had a wonderful 88 plus years and leaves of legacy of friends and family behind. His infectious smile, the twinkle of his unique brown and blue eyes, his good nature and silly sense of humor and will be missed by all.


Tony is survived by his wife and best friend, Barbara Pagano (nee Schmitt); his children, Tony Pagano Jr., Michael Pagano and Linda DiCiccio; stepchildren, Pete Scaffidi, Deborah Weatherby and Barbara Marshall; his grandchildren, Joe Pagano, Heather Mallette, Natalie Pagano, Phillip Pagano, Zachary Smith, Sarah Pagano, Bryanna Weatherby, Alexander Weatherby, Peter John Scaffidi and Nicholas Scaffidi.


Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society 226 French St, Hammonton.
