HAMMONTON—A body was found on a local farm on the 200 block of Pine Road and reported to police at 3:08 p.m. on March 12, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

“Police received a call that a body was found in a drainage ditch on a local farm. The body was not in a vehicle,” Friel said.

One of the farm employees was out by a pond on the property and discovered the body of Darryl Koodray, 56, of Chesilhurst, Friel said.

The area was secured, and Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Major Crimes and the Atlantic County Medical Examiner’s Office were contacted to respond.

“A preliminary check of the scene and medical examination reports conclude that there was no foul play at this time,” Friel said.

The matter is being further investigated by the Hammonton Police Department, Friel said, adding that Det. Sgt. Robert Zbikowksi is the investigating officer.

This report is comprised of arrests and investigations made by the men and women of local enforcement. All suspects and arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
