Charles J. “Charlie” Panichelli, 93, of New Castle, Del., passed away on Friday, February 11, 2022.
Born and raised in Hammonton, N.J., he was a son of the late Charles and Rose (DeNucci) Panichelli. Charlie was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1950 and proudly served his country in the 9th Military Police Company in Fort Dix, N.J. until 1952. In 1953, he married Patricia Scott and moved to New Castle, where he worked for Addressograph Multigraph Corporation. Charlie later worked for Wang Industries, where he retired in 1993. He was a life member of Joseph B. Stahl Memorial Post 30.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Panichelli. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Patricia A. (Scott) Panichelli; son, Scott Panichelli (Rebecca); grandchildren, Christopher Panichelli (Heather), Ashley Panichelli Casper (Jim); and great-grandchildren, Scott and Charli Panichelli and Walter Casper.
A visitation for family and friends was held from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 17, 2022, at Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 North DuPont Parkway, New Castle, Del. Services and interment was held privately.
