Criminal Mischief arrest

Police investigate damaged property on Valley Ave.

HAMMONTON—A man was charged with criminal mischief at 10:59 p.m. on January 20 on the 300 block of Valley Avenue following an investigation by police, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

Police received a call to the 300 block of Valley Avenue in reference to damaged property, Friel said.

“The caller said to the responding officer that he was inside his apartment when he heard a loud noise coming from the entryway to the apartment,” Friel said.

The officer was shown the damage to the entry door window of the apartment and the complainant had surveillance video of the incident and identified a neighbor from a common building on the video, Friel said.

The subject was identified as Alberto Calderone, 58, of Hammonton, Friel said. Police made contact with Calderone and observed injuries to his right hand, Friel said.

Calderone was arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing, Friel said. He was charged with criminal mischief and released pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court.

Officer Kyle Ambrozaitis was the arresting officer, Friel said.
