Erika McDonald

Erika McDonald (nee Sommer), 83, of Elm Winslow Twp., N.J. died on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Samaritan Center in Voorhees, N.J.

Erika was born in Heilbronn, Germany and moved to Elm in 1970. She was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ in Hammonton. A true nature lover she enjoyed working in her garden, growing flowers and watching hummingbirds.

She is predeceased by her parents, Friedrich and Elsie Sommer; sisters, Lieselotte and Marga; and brother, Friedrich.

Surviving are her loving husband, George McDonald; her three sons, James McDonald and his wife Stacie of Aurora, Colo., Robert McDonald and his wife Rhonda of Colorado Springs, Colo. and Raymond McDonald and his wife Debbie of Margate City, N.J; and her loving grandchildren, Victoria, Matthew and Alexa McDonald.

Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on January 22, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. with service to be held at 10:45 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, N.J. Burial will follow at New Jersey State Veterans Cemetery Wrightstown, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Erika’s memory to Samaritan Center at Voorhees 265 NJ Rt. 73 Voorhees, NJ 08043.
