HAMMONTON—Flag football action continued at William T. Capella Field last week, as more than 300 athletes participated in the Hammonton Hawks NFL Flag games.
Rain postponed one night of action, but those games were played last weekend.
“We’ve really been amazed at the interest this year. Last year, we had a lot of kids turn out, but this summer it was way more than we anticipated. It’s great to see the kids out here having a great time,” Hawks President Clark Hovermale said.
Large crowds were at last week’s games, sitting along the sidelines and in the stands at Capella Field. Games are played every Monday and Wednesday beginning at 6:30 p.m.
