George W. Hoffman III



George W. Hoffman III, 48, of Gloucester City, N.J. passed away peacefully Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center in Camden, N.J.


George was born in Stratford, N.J. He graduated from Woodbury High School in 1992 and Drew University in 1996. After owning his own inspection company for many years, George worked as a specialized salesperson for Home Depot in Lawnside, N.J.


He was a lifelong member of the Boy Scouts of America. George was an Eagle Scout and he continued, through adulthood, serving the Scouts in Gloucester County and the South Jersey area. He was a member of the Bonsal Blues Military Marching Band, where he played his trombone in the marching, concert and dance bands. You may even have seen George carrying the base drum in many of the South Jersey parades.


George is predeceased by his father, George W. Hoffman Jr.


George is survived by his loving mother, Rosemary (nee Cini); his brother, Frederick Hoffman; and sisters, Judith Cardenosa (John) and Rosemary A. DeCicco (Steve). He is the loving uncle of Matthew, Hannah, Nathaniel, Levi and Kyle.


Family and friends attended his viewing on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish – St. Anthony of Padua Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton, N.J. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ 08037.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of George to the Boy Scouts of America at Friends of Scouting Garden State Council, BSA 693 Rancocas Rd Westampton NJ 08060 or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
