Gladys Ortiz, 75, of Hammonton died on Monday, December 14, 2020.
Born in Cidra, Puerto Rico, she lived in Hammonton for many years. Gladys formerly worked at Bally’s Park Place in Atlantic City for 25 years in the housekeeping department.
She is predeceased by her parents, Emilio Mendez and Julia Figueroa; her brothers, Luis Mendez, Benigno Mendez and Hector Mendez.
Surviving are her four children, Norma Ortiz, Anthony Ortiz, Marie Ortiz (Joseph O’Donoghue) and Joey Ortiz; her seven sisters, Maria L. Mendez, Hilda R. Mendez (Manuel), Ada E. Mendez, Ana A. Mendez, Neida Quinones (Ozzie), Migdalia Mendez and Magdalena Mendez; one brother, Felix Mendez (Carmen); seven grandchildren, Stacey Ortiz, Joseph Cruz, Amaris Cruz, Elmelinda Cruz, Anthony Ortiz Jr., Jerrica Ortiz and Jocelyn Ortiz; and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on December 17, 2020 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial followed in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. A viewing was held on December 17, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, Hammonton.
