Jacqueline “Jackie” Gargano

Jacqueline “Jackie” Gargano (nee Errera), 71, of Blue Anchor, N.J. passed away suddenly on Friday, July 22, 2022 at Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Pt., N.J.

Jackie was born on June 29, 1951 in Hammonton, N.J. to Dominic and Edith Errera, both of whom predeceased her. Jackie was raised in Rosedale, N.J. with her sisters, Bobbi (Rodio) and Patti (Caracciolo) and her brother, Donny (Errera). Jackie graduated from Edgewood High School in 1969 and Glassboro State College in 1973. After graduation, Jackie found her true calling in education and spent four years teaching first grade at Winslow Elementary and 27 years as a speech and language therapist at Winslow Middle School.

While Jackie always loved being a teacher, her family was always the most important part of her life. Whether hosting Christmas Eve dinner with enough food for an army, planning truly epic birthday parties for her children, or spending a weekend with the family at the beach, Jackie was always happiest when surrounded by her entire family. With the arrival of her five grandchildren, Jackie became a tireless nanny/tutor/confidant who cherished spending as much time with them as possible. Being even five minutes late to see them in any activity at any time of day or night was unthinkable. No matter the occasion or event, forever at Jackie’s side was her devoted husband, Frank. Inseparable for over 51 years, Frank and Jackie shared a lifetime of love and happiness with their family.

Jackie’s courage in the face of unimaginable adversity served as an inspiration for everyone she met. Regardless of what MS threw at her, she always had a smile, a laugh or a few words of wisdom for all of her friends, neighbors and colleagues. The light she brought to the world will be missed by family and friends alike.

Surviving Jackie are her loving husband, Frank Alan Gargano; her son, Craig and his wife Stacey; daughter, Kara Wallace and her husband Mark; her five grandchildren, Jake, Kyle, Kevin, Brooke and Mia; her sisters, Bobbi (Butch) and Patti (Bill); her brother, Donny (Debbie); and her many adoring nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation Wednesday, July 27, 2022 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Joseph Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. A private burial will be held at later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made in Jackie’s name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital 262 Danny Thomas Pl, Memphis, TN 38105.
