John W. Pitale



John W. Pitale, 92, of Perkasie, Pa. and formerly of Hammonton, N.J. and Cape Coral, Fla. passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Grand View Hospital in Sellersville, Pa.


John was born and raised in Hammonton, N.J., graduated from Hammonton High School in 1947, attended Wharton School of Finance in Philadelphia and served in the U.S. Coast Guard from 1950-1953. He went on to have a stellar career in finance and banking for over 40 years retiring as the CEO of Mellon Bank in Voorhees, N.J. in 1986.


John was a member of the Gibbsboro-Voorhees Lions Club for over 12 years and served as president from 1979-1980, member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge # 1954 in Pine Island, Fla. since 2003 and a member of Our Lady of Miraculous Medal Church in Bokeelia, Fla.


He is predeceased by his wife, Doris A. (nee Doyle) and parents, William and Anna

(nee Perino) Pitale.


John is survived by his nieces and nephews, Doreen Varley, Sharon Falcione, Shelia Dumas, Valerie Doyle, Jimmy Doyle and Billy Doyle along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will be having private entombment and celebration of John’s life.
