Joyce M. Bocelle



Joyce M. Bocelle (nee Santella), 71, of Hammonton died on Sunday, February 7, 2021.


Joyce was born in Hammonton and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1967; she went on to graduate from Trenton State College in 1971. She was a long time physical education and health teacher for the Hammonton Elementary School where she also coached all forms of elementary school sports. Joyce was a member of the Hammonton High School board of education for 25 years and ran a website for Montgomery Clift (McMemories).


She is predeceased by her parents, Michael and Theresa Santella.


Surviving are her loving husband, Zack Bocelle; son, Daniel Bocelle; step-son, Zack Bocelle (Maria); step-daughter, Lisa Miller (Chris); and her sister, Janice Olive (William Sr.). She is the loving grandmother and step-grandmother to Frankie Bocelle, Dakota and Nathan Bocelle, Raelynne, Leyla and Cash Miller. She will also be missed by her favorite fury friend Bennie.


Family and friends attended her visitation on February 15, 2021 from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, NJ. Cremation will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) 424 E. 92nd St. New York, NY 10128-6804.
