Joyce V. Amato



Joyce V. Amato (nee McCluskey), 86, of Hammonton passed away on Monday, March 14, 2022 at her residence.


Born in Camden she was a lifelong Hammonton resident. Joyce worked first as a pharmacy technician and then a histology technician at Kessler Memorial Hospital in Hammonton. She went on to work at Kessler Home Health as a Health Aide Coordinator and finished her career at AtlantiCare Home Health. She was a member of the Hammonton Canoe Club, where she enjoyed going and playing cards. She loved all sorts of crafts including painting and stitching. Joyce enjoyed reading and loved to collect Angels. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.


She is predeceased by her parents, John and Janet McCluskey; her husband, John A. Amato Jr.; her son, Jack Amato; and her stepsister, Judy McArdle.


Joyce is survived by her daughter, Janice Dispoto and her husband Charles of Hammonton; her grandchildren, Emily Dispoto Moorhead (Shawn), Andrew Dispoto, Laura Dudek (Collin); Zachary Dispoto and her great-granddaughter, Indigo Dispoto-Moorhead.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, March 18, 2022, 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt Carmel Parish, Church of St. Anthony of Padua RC Church, 285 Route 206, Hammonton, N.J. where a visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hammonton Cancer Foundation PO Box 1066, Hammonton, NJ (hammontoncancerfoundation.org).
