Dear Editor,

My name is Zack Brown and I am running for Hammonton Town Council because I care deeply for our community.

From our great public schools and improved recreation to our vibrant downtown and iconic community traditions, we have so many reasons to appreciate living here. My wife, Alyssa, and I just welcomed our first child, Cameron, in July and I am grateful that he will get to grow up in Hammonton.

Our town is an incredible place to live, work and play, but as with anything, there’s always room for improvement. For the last two years, I have volunteered with Hammonton Heart & Soul, a resident-driven process that seeks to identify what we love most about our community, what future we want for it and how to achieve it. Through a public survey and hundreds of interviews we heard consistent themes like improving our parks, keeping our streets safe and preserving the small-town feel we all cherish so much. These values resonate with me, too.

That’s why I am excited to join my running mates Deputy Mayor Tom Gribbin and Councilman Jonathan Oliva as part of the Hammonton First ticket. Our top priorities are ensuring our community stays safe, keeping the cost-of-living stable and expanding recreation throughout our town. These issues affect every Hammontonian’s quality of life, and we are serious about achieving these goals. We believe in actively engaging our residents in the decision-making process and, if elected, I will strive to enhance town council’s communication with all residents of the town.

After speaking with so many of my neighbors, I know that more often than not, they know what’s best for our town. Together, we can continue to keep Hammonton a great place to live and raise our families.

Zack Brown

Hammonton First Candidate
