Lydia M. Midure

Lydia M. Midure (nee Grover), 84, died suddenly in her home on November 11, 2021 and was reunited with her beloved husband Pete.

Lydia Grover was born on September 4, 1937 and raised in Clementon, N.J. She married the love of her life Pete (Cosimo) Midure on October 8, 1960, and they built their home in Hammonton. While they enjoyed taking small local trips, their greatest joys came from the time they spent with their family. They never missed a family dinner, birthday party, school or sporting event, dance recital or major milestone of a family member. They would even travel to attend, once going to the Poconos for a dance competition for their nieces. Despite a dislike of planes, they even traveled to San Francisco and Hawaii with their brother and sister. After Pete’s retirement they extended their trips to Florida staying for weeks during the winter at the Grand Floridian in their beloved Disney World. After Pete’s untimely death in 2006, Lydia committed herself to keeping his memory alive and loved to share stories of their time together. As the younger generation went off to college or moved away, she was diligent in calling them weekly, checking on them and staying in touch with them. Recently she was able to return to Disney World with 15 of her family members in a multi-generational trip.

Lydia is survived by her loving family, Minnie Gallo, Joe and MaryAnn Midure, Nickie Craig, Delores and Richard Tomassetti, Austin and Marge Midure, Theresa Ensign, and Leo and Corinne Midure. In addition, she leaves behind 17 broken-hearted nieces and nephews, their spouses, children and grandchildren.

Relatives and friends attended her viewing 9 a.m. Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Anthony Church 450 Pennington Ave, Waterford Works, NJ 08089.
