HAMMONTON—A man who had been asked to leave an abandoned building on December 5 was arrested when he returned on December 6, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

The arrest occurred at 11:27 p.m. on December 6 on the 100 block of N. Second Street, Friel said.

While conducting a check of the area, Officer Travis Hoffman discovered Anthony Hall sleeping in an abandoned building, Friel said.

“He had previously been advised on December 5 that he was not permitted on the property, and he had subsequently returned,” Friel said.

He was charged with defiant trespass and released pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court, Friel said.

Hoffman was the charging officer, Friel said.

This report is comprised of arrests and investigations made by the men and women of local enforcement. All suspects and arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
