Michael J. Palmieri



Michael J. Palmieri, 88, of Hammonton, N.J. died suddenly on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at his home.


Mike was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1952. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served in the Korean War. He enrolled at Rutgers University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business in 1958.


He retired from METLIFE where he was an Insurance Agent for many years. During his retirement, he enjoyed many trips abroad, visiting a variety of foreign countries. Mike was a bit of a social butterfly who always had time to strike up a conversation or share a story.


He is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Geraldine Palmieri; brother, Salvatore Palmieri; and sisters, Mary Staino and Frances Palmieri.


Mike is survived by his sister, Dolores Falciano of Egg Harbor City, N.J.; and his brother, Edward Palmieri of The Wildwoods, Fla. He is the loving uncle of Patricia Andersen, Debbie Cottone, Donna Efstatos, Dina Frederick, Anthony Staino, Robert Palmieri and John Falciano; and his extended family includes 14 grand nieces and nephews and three great-grand nieces and nephews.


A celebration of Mike’s life will be set at a later date.
