Event organizer Tricia Donio said people can expect a couple new food vendors and entertainment this year.
For food, there will be plenty of options from Tacos Al Carbon, Mister Softee, House of Cupcakes, Louies French Fries, Kona Ice, Big Squeeze Lemonade, Matty G Dogz, Locadilla Quesadilla and Jeremiah’s Food Truck/The Slider King.
She said there will be about 40 vendors during National Night Out as well as fun activities such as Olympic games with the police and fire departments.
“We’re going to add some Olympic games with the police and fire [departments], and we also have a corn hole competition between the firemen and the police officers,” Donio said.
During the Olympic games, there will be about three or four games where children can participate alongside the police officers and firemen.
Some of the games include a plunger race on a cart, hot potato contest and potato sack race.
“There will be a schedule of events that will be printed and they can pick that up on the entrance table,” Donio said. “We will also be selling T-shirts to benefit the police officers as well.”
During National Night Out, a New Jersey State Police helicopter will land at the high school and after landing attendees are welcome to check out the helicopter.
At the end of the night at 9 p.m., there will be a fireworks display.
