Lieutenant Commander Noel Keith Schilling Sr. died on Wednesday, December 23, 2020.
Noel was born on November 13, 1929 in Lafayette, Ind. He served in the U.S. Navy as a medic and a submarine officer over a 21 year period rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander; he retired in 1969.
In 1950, he married Mary A. Musielski and together they raised four children. In 1973 Noel and Mary moved to Bountiful, Utah to work for Royal Globe Insurance and American States Insurance until his retirement.
Noel was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Noel was an avid golfer, and he was very proud of his hole-in-one!
Noel is predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mabel; and his brothers, Gene and Bill.
Surviving are his wife, Mary; his children, Noel Keith Schilling Jr. (Susan), Mary Catherine DeMarco (Anthony), Pamela Anne Lopez (Gil) and Elaine Marie Farr (Joel); sister, Karen Sue Andrews; brother, Kenny Burr Schilling; 12 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19, a family viewing and Mass was held on December 28, 2020 at St. Olaf Church. Interment at Mt. Calvary Cemetery was held on December 30, 2020 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Samaritan’s Purse.
