George L. Eastland, 77, of Hammonton, N.J. and formerly of Pittsburgh, PA. passed away Friday October 7, 2022 surrounded by his loving family. George was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. and lived in Hammonton, N.J. for the last 12 years. He studied engineering and design at Allegheny Community College and worked as a design draftsman for many years. He was also a former Assistant Fire Chief for the Wilkins Township Volunteer Fire Company #3 in East Pittsburgh, PA. George loved the Pittsburgh Steelers and was proud of his hometown. George’s commitment to his family was his top priority, and he devoted his life to them.
George is predeceased by his parents, William and Margaret Eastland; his brother, William Eastland; and his sister, Joan Bradshaw. He is survived by his loving wife, Margaret “Peg” (Byrne) Eastland; his sons, Kevin Eastland (Chrystal), Keith Eastland (Melissa); and his daughter, Kelly Donio (Jim); also his sister, Kathy Collins (Steve). Loving grandfather of Andrew, Kasey, Maggie, Craig, and Ryan Eastland, and Matthew, Juliet and Amelia Donio. Special thanks to George’s brother-in-law, Dan Byrne for care provided during his time of need.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing today, Wednesday October 12, 2022 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home, 102 N. Third St., Hammonton, NJ 08037.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, October 13 at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish -St. Joseph Church, Third and French St., Hammonton, NJ. Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery, 500 White Horse Pike, Hammonton, NJ 08037.
