Obituary


George Joseph Guerere

George Joseph Guerere, December 22, 1943 – January 23, 2023, George was born to Generino and Mary Ann Guerere on December 22, 1943, in Camden, N.J. George passed away peacefully in Roseville, Calif., with his loving daughter Gayle and son-in-law James Capik by his side. Upon graduating from St. Joseph High School in 1961, George joined the Navy and proudly served on the USS Wiltsie as a Radio Mechanic. After his honorable discharge, George enrolled into DeVry Tech Institute in Chicago, Ill. Upon graduation, George began his career as a TV Service Technician for Sears Roebuck and Co. Career opportunities in startup tech companies moved George and his family to Pennsylvania, Maine, then ultimately settling into California in 1983. While residing in Hammonton, N.J, George was a proud member of the Hammonton Rescue Squad, The Sons of Italy and participated in city sports teams and organizations.


George is survived by his children, Gene (Katie), Gayle (James), Janet (Kevin); grandchildren, Andrew (Sarah), Morgan, Kelsey, Andrew, Kyle and Hanna; great-grandchildren, Aria, Eli and Ivy as well as his former wife, Anne Guerere Scudder. George is also survived by his sister, Jane Cirillo (Anthony); brother, Gary Guerere; along with many nieces and nephews.


Graveside services will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hammonton, N.J., on May 20, 2023 at 11:30 a.m. To share a condolence, please visit marinellafuneralhome.com
