Obituary


Michael L. Massaro

Michael L. Massaro, 85, of Hammonton N.J., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family at his home, on Monday April 3, 2023. He was born and raised in Hammonton and in 1956, graduated from St. Joseph’s High School. Mike met the love of his life, Lillian Ferranto, while in high school. It was “love at first sight for both of them.” After graduation, they married and shared sixty-six wonderful years of life together. In the early 1960s, Michael worked for the R.C.A. Aerospace Division. Michael owned and operated several businesses, including a TV Repair Service, American Appliance Store, M.L. Massaro Trucking and M.L. Massaro Construction. He subsequently worked at Whitehall Labs and later was a manager at Tri- County Security. What brought him the most joy in his professional career was M.L. Massaro Racing Stables where he bred, owned, raised and trained thoroughbred race horses.


Michael is predeceased by his parents, Michael and Josephine (nee Intessimone) Massaro. He is survived by his loving wife, Lillian (nee Ferranto); his children, Michael J. Massaro and his wife Dianne, James R. Massaro, Mark P. Massaro and his wife Lynette, John Dubowski and his wife Cyndi; and his sister, Florence Silvestro and her husband Joseph Silvestro. He is the loving grandfather of Michael D. Massaro and his wife Emily, Jared D. Massaro and his wife Annalese, James R. Massaro, Alicia Massaro, Marlee and Marissa Massaro and Nikolai Dubowski, and two great grandchildren, Michael John Massaro and Jackson Jared Massaro.


Relatives and friends were invited to attend his viewing Monday April 10, 2023 from 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, N.J. A Mass of Christian Burial was held 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish – St. Joseph’s Church 3rd & French Streets, Hammonton, N.J. Entombment followed at Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Rd.
