Obituary

Dorothy “Dottie” Puleo (nee Regn), 87, of Hammonton, N.J. and formerly of Atco, N.J. passed away Friday, April 14, 2023. Dorothy was born in Camden, N.J. and grew up in Atco, N.J. She graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School in 1955. Dottie loved to play bingo and was known for her pineapple upside-down cakes, going to and having yard sales. She started working in 1955 at A & P and retired after 44 years in 1999 from Super Fresh in Hammonton and she was a member of Local # 152. Dottie was always helping her customers find a good bargain or giving recommendations of different products. She was also very active volunteering at the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry.
She is predeceased by her parents, Walter and Sophia (nee Muza) Regn; and her brother, Walter Regn. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Anthony J. “Tony/Junior” Puleo; her daughter, Lisa Puleo (Frank Vitagliano) (his children and grandchildren). She is also survived by her special friend, Roberta “Berta” Franchetti. Dorothy will be sadly missed by her nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend her viewing Thursday from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday Morning from 10 a.m. – 11 a.m. at Marinella Funeral Home 102 N Third St. Hammonton, N.J. 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Friday 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish-St. Anthony Church 285 Rt. 206 Hammonton, N.J. Burial followed in Greenmount Cemetery 124 S. 1st Road Hammonton, N.J. 08037. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Vincent de Paul Society “Hammonton Food Pantry” 2024 Little Eagle Drive Hammonton, NJ 08037.
