Marion C. Oliva

Marion C. Oliva (nee Merlino), 92, passed away at home in Boynton Beach, Fla. on Monday, April 29, 2024. Born in Providence, Rhode Island she lived in Hammonton for many years before moving to Florida in 1980. Marion graduated from the University of Rhode Island College of Nursing and was a member of Alpha Chi Omega Society. Before retiring Marion worked as Director of Nursing Education at Ancora Psychiatric Hospital. While living in Hammonton she was an active member of St. Martin DePorres R.C. Church.


Marion was predeceased by her husband, Leon J. Oliva; and her son in law, Enrico "Ricky" Tomasello. She is survived by her son, Robert J. Oliva (Earsel); and her daughter, Lee Anne Tomasello; two grandchildren, Michael Oliva (Christy) and Jennifer Tomasello; and her former daughter in law, Jean Calzone.


A viewing and Mass of Christian Burial was held on Saturday, May 4, 2024, with burial in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Hammonton. Memorial donations may be made to National Multiple Sclerosis Society at: nationalmssociety.org.


Arrangements were by the Carnesale Funeral Home.
