Regis A. Vitale Sr.

Regis A. Vitale Sr., 72, of Hammonton died on January 3, 2021.


Regis was born in Hammonton and was a longtime resident. He graduated from Hammonton High School in 1965. He served two tours in the U.S. Air Force and was honorably discharged as a Staff Sargent. Regis retired from the insurance business and at the age of 46, he went back to college to obtain a master’s degree of special education. Regis also loved taekwondo and over many years of training, he obtained a seventh Dan Kukkiwon and an eighth Dan USNTF. He shared his knowledge with his students at Master V’s All American Martial Art School. He also loved hunting and made annual trips to New York.


Regis is predeceased by his parents, Anthony & Millie (nee Virgilio); his sister, Cornelia; his brother, Gene Vitale; and his brother-in-law, Bruce Galletta.


Surviving are his children, Shawnette Silvestri (Rob) of Hammonton, Nicole Musto (Gerardo) of South Carolina, Lisa Cassidy (Stephen) of Voorhees, N.J. and Regis Vitale, Jr. of Waterford Works, N.J.; his sister-in-law, Lynn Vitale of Texas; his brothers, Anthony “Luke” Vitale (Florence) of Pa., Warren Vitale of Pa. and LaRue Vitale (Sharon) of EHT, N.J.; his sister, Yvonne Galletta of Beechwood, N.J.; and his six grandchildren, Daniel, Robert, Michael, Vittoria, Bryce and Dominick along with 12 nieces and nephews.


Interment with military honors will be held at 11 a.m. on March 12, 2021 at the Brig. General Wm. C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, N.J.
