Richard V. Sabatini



Richard V. Sabatini, 79, of Levittown, Pa. passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 29, 2022.


He was born and raised in Bristol Boro until he was 9 years old and moved to Hammonton, N.J. where he graduated Hammonton High School, Class of 1960. Richard started his career in the radio industry in Hammonton, then went on to be a reporter for local newspapers in and around Bucks County and then became a police reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer where he retired after over 40 years. During his career, he was the International Vice President of the Newspaper Guild where he served for many years. Richard also served on the Bristol Township Civil Service Commission, Pennsbury Arts Foundation and did fundraising for various animal shelters and rescues.


He is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Laura Sabatini, and many aunts and uncles.


Richard will be greatly missed by his loving wife of 43 years, Denise; his sister-in-law, Cynthia Scalisi and her husband Frank; and his three guinea pigs, Reese, Marshmallow and KitKat.

Family and friends gathered on Monday, June 6, 2022, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and again Tuesday morning from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. at the Galzerano Funeral Home, 3500 Bristol – Oxford Valley Road, Levittown, PA 19057. Funeral Mass began at 9:30 a.m. at St. Frances Cabrini, 325 S. Oxford Valley Road, Fairless Hills, PA 19030. Interment followed at Resurrection Cemetery. 


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd, Kanab, UT 84741, or any local non-kill rescues or shelters.
