Rinaldo Vigna



Rinaldo Vigna, 88, of Hammonton died peacefully at home Sunday, February 7, 2021.


He was born and raised in Serra Pedace, Italy and worked as a postal carrier. He moved to Hammonton in 1961 and started working as a tailor for W. B Kessler Clothing Company from 1961-1982, Flight Apparel Inc. from 1982-1989 and Bayside State Prison from 1989-2004 when he retired. He loved spending time with his family and friends, cooking, sports and playing Italian cards. He enjoyed listening to Italian music especially his favorite artist Claudio Villa; he also enjoyed gardening and growing his fig trees and a good glass of wine.


Surviving are his devoted wife, Rita; his three children, Francesco Emilio Vigna of Royersford, Pa., Richard Rinaldo Vigna and Nancy Rita Vigna both of Hammonton; his brother, Mario Vigna of Italy; and his loving grandchildren, Elliott Preston Vigna and Craig Robert Scharlach Jr.


Family and friends attended his viewing on February 15, 2021 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, N.J. Service was held at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery 500 N. White Horse Pike Hammonton, N.J. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Rinaldo’s name to Parkinson’s Foundation 200 SE 1st Street Suite 800 Miami, FL 33131.
