Shooting on Peach Street

Chief Friel: No arrest as of May 2

HAMMONTON—According to a release issued by the Hammonton Police Department (HPD), at approximately 9:10 p.m. on the evening of April 30, officers were called to the 200 block of Peach Street in reference to shots fired at a dwelling. The alleged shooter or shooters were still at large as of May 2, according to Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel.


“There is no additional information at this point,” Friel said.


The release said an investigation revealed that an unknown subject drove down Peach Street, discharged a firearm at a residence in that block, and left the scene. No individuals were injured in the incident, the release said.


The Hammonton Police Department’s Detective Unit and additional personnel responded to process the scene and evidence was located and retained, the release issued by the HPD said.


A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of the individual or individuals responsible, the release said.


“At this point, no one has come forward yet,” Friel said.
