HAMMONTON—Ty Powell drove in two runs and Scott DiGerolamo scored a pair of runs as St. Joseph Academy’s baseball team topped Cape Atlantic League foe Atlantic County Institute of Technology (ACIT) 6-2 on May 8.
The Wildcats trailed 2-0 after three innings but rallied for five runs in the bottom of the fourth to take control of the matchup.
Jake Marootian delivered the key hit in the inning, a two-run homer. Powell finished 2-for-4 and Jimmy Mantuano added a two-RBI single.
Lucas Middleman earned the win, going 5 and two-thirds inning while allowing just two runs and one hit. Mantuano tossed one-and-a-third innings of scoreless relief.
Also last week, St. Joseph lost to rival Hammonton 13-4 on May 9, and a game at ACIT slated for May 12 was postponed to May 22 at 4 p.m.
On May 16, the Wildcats played at Northern Burlington, but that game ended too late for this edition. On May 19, St. Joseph is scheduled to host Buena at 4 p.m.
