Back in Action Chiropractic Center opens

Kristin Guglietti/THG Dr. Stephen Struble is the business owner of Back in Action Chiropractic Center at 240 S. White Horse Pike.

Anyone with a spine can come visit Back in Action Chiropractic Center, which opened on Oct. 9 at Blueberry Crossing, 240 S. White Horse Pike.

Dr. Stephen Struble said opening his own practice has always been a goal. He’s been a chiropractor since April 2020.

“I am very grateful that Atlantic County Family Spine gave me the opportunity to work, learn and grow,” Struble said.

While playing baseball at Stockton University, Struble hurt his shoulder. His hitting coach recommended seeing a chiropractor.

“He said, ‘Go see this chiropractor.’ I wouldn’t be able to throw as much as I did without seeing him. I was like, ‘Really? A chiropractor for my shoulder pain?’ I didn’t really know much about it at the time. But I trusted him and I went, and it worked really well for me,” Struble said.

During college, Struble was originally a biology major at Stockton University. He minored in chemistry.

“I was originally planning on going to medical school, but I wasn’t really sure what I wanted to do, so I guess all those classes and that major ended up working for chiropractic school. I just had to go down to chiropractic school after that, and I went to Life University in Marietta, Ga.,” Struble said.

Helping other people with their spinal pain has been rewarding for Struble.

“It’s just very rewarding being able to help people. Seeing the people come in they’ve just kind of given up hope and oftentimes we’re their last option. They’ve tried everything else and they don’t see the relief they want and they come in with pretty low expectations, but they are usually pretty amazed at how much better they can feel,” Struble said.

Chiropractic care is often associated with back care, however, it is more than that.

“That is what most people associate with chiropractic care, neck pain, back pain, headaches, but it’s a lot of trying to take pressure off of the nervous system so that way the body can heal properly and function at its fullest,” Struble said.

On top of regular chiropractic adjustments, they also have additional certifications with extremity work like shoulders.

Being a lifelong Hammonton resident, Struble loves the location for Back in Action Chiropractic Care Center.

“Born and raised here in town. Went to all the Hammonton schools growing up. Graduated from high school in 2011 there. It’s always been my goal to come back here and help serve the community,” Struble said.

The sense of community has kept Struble in town he said.

“Everyone knows each other, and everything’s close knit. It’s where I grew up, where all my friends are and where my family is,” Struble said.
