Flyers win gold at international competitions


Flyers gymnasts traveled to Puerto Rico and competed at two international competitions. On Dec. 14, at the Puerto Rico Classic, Flyers brought home the team championship banner. The trio had outstanding performances.


Nina Scaffidi, 12, was golden on Uneven Bars 9.55 also winning the All Around title in her age group.


Kylie Amelung, 17, won gold on Floor Exercise.


Tatiana Blough, 14, brought home Gold Medals on Vault and All Around.


All three Flyers qualified for the Laurie Hernandez Challenge.


On Dec. 16, at the Laurie Hernandez Challenge, Tatiana Blough won the All Around title and captured gold medals on Vault and Uneven Bars, silver on Floor Exercise and bronze on Balance Beam.


Nina Scaffidi brought home a silver medal for vault and bronze for Uneven Bars. Scaffidi had a birthday between the events which moved her to the senior division at the Hernandez meet.
