Bruce W. Russell Sr., 72, of Hammonton died on Monday, February 1, 2021.
Born in Hammonton, Bruce grew up in Atsion and later raised his family in Atco. Bruce was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He owned and operated Russell’s Pic II on the White Horse Pike in Hammonton for 28 years and was a co-owner at the Pic-A-Lilli Inn in Shamong and the Pic Pub in Atlantic City. Above all, Bruce was a family man who loved his family dearly. He was a friend to everyone and nobody was a stranger to him. He enjoyed golf, ice hockey, family vacations, and he was a Disney Fanatic.
He is predeceased by his son, Bruce “Burr” Russell Jr.; brothers, Pickett “Butch” (Sandy) Russell III and John “Buddy” Russell; and sister, Lillian “Bonnie” (Bill) Halfmann.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Sandra (nee Kimley); daughter, Heather (Shawn) Gudauskas; grandchildren, Lawrence and Garrett; brothers, Wallace (Virginia) Russell and Donald (Barbara) Russell; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Relatives and friends attended his viewing on February 8, 2021 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bell-Hennessy Funeral Home, 420 S. Main St., Williamstown. Graveside Services with Military Honors were held 1 p.m. on February 9, 2021 at Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions in place, funeral services were held privately.
