Jean “Giovanna” E. Jones (nee Maimone), 92, of Hammonton, N.J. passed away peacefully Friday, January 7, 2022 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Jean was born and raised in Hammonton and graduated from Hammonton High School in 1949 where she played field hockey. She went on to work for Atlantic County in the Clerk’s Office where she retired in 1993. Jean was a member of the Hammonton Senior Citizens, VFW and Rosary Society.
She is predeceased by her husband, Walter; her son, Anthony; parents, Frank and Fannie Maimone; and her brother, Charles Maimone.
Jean is survived by her son, Richard and his wife Barbara of Hammonton, N.J. and daughter, Jean Mazzeo and her husband John of Tennessee.
She is the loving grandmother of Frank, Brandon, Jessica, John, Anthony, Alison and Joseph. She is the loving great-grandmother of Michael, Giovanna, Kaylee and Jaxon.
Private services were held at the Marinella Funeral Home. Burial was held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, N.J.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Jean’s memory to the Hammonton VFW 390 Egg Harbor Rd. Hammonton, NJ 08037.
