Joseph E. Martinelli Sr.

Joseph E. Martinelli Sr., 63, of Hammonton passed away with his loving family by his side on Wednesday, June 22, 2022 in Cooper Hospital.

Born in Philadelphia he was a lifelong resident of Hammonton. Joe was a self-employed blueberry farmer, an occupation he truly loved. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and crabbing. Joe’s family meant everything to him, whether it was walking on the beach with his wife Josephine collecting seashells, or just spending time with them at Chincoteague Island; he cherished every moment as did they. He was fun-loving, humorous, generous and always had a smile on his face. He touched the hearts of everyone who knew him and truly had a heart of gold. If you ever needed to find him, he was always with his wife or kids.

He is predeceased by his mother, and step-father who raised him, Lucetta and Charles “Fudge” Furgione and his father-in-law who loved him like the son he never had, Vincenzo Polizzotto.

Joe is survived by the love of his life, his wife of almost 38 years, Josephine Martinelli (nee Polizzotto); his children who he adored and would do anything for, Joey Martinelli Jr. and Dominique Martinelli; his sister, Tina Baldi (Charles Jr.) all of Hammonton; and his two brothers, Gene Martinelli and Ralph Martinelli.
