Josephine “Josie” B. Santora



Josephine “Josie” B. Santora (nee Gregori), 93, of Hammonton died peacefully on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at her residence.


Born in Hammonton, she was a lifelong resident. Aunt Jo, as she was affectionately called by many, owned and operated Santora’s Store in Rosedale for more than 30 years. She loved gardening and could always be found working in her yard.


She is predeceased by her husband, Daniel D. Santora Sr. and her daughter, Kathleen J. Mock.


Surviving are her three sons, Rocco T. Santora and his wife Ursula, Daniel D. Santora Jr. and Mark A. Santora all of Hammonton; six grandchildren, Dana A. Grasso and her husband Tony, Rocco T. Santora Jr., Michael D. Santora, Christopher A. Santora, John H. Mock and Robert D. Benner; and two great-grandchildren, Travis and Benjamin Grasso.


A viewing will be held on February 10, 2021, 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third St., Hammonton, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 a.m. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish, Church of St. Joseph’s, 226 French St., Hammonton. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Hammonton. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA of Atlantic County, PO Box 205, Somers Point, NJ 08244.
