Obituary

Joseph Olive

Joseph Olive, 80, passed away peacefully at home on June 3rd, 2023 with his family lovingly by his side. Born August 6, 1942 to Catherine Merlino and Frank Olive. Joe lived his rambunctious young life in Hammonton, NJ along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and family and friends close by. Joe’s love of sports and music carried him through his high school years where he would excel on the football field and on-stage playing guitar with his rock band. After High School Joe would start working for Highway Transportation and Morgan’s Pump & Tank. Joe landed a coveted toll collectors’ job with the Delaware River Port Authority where he would spend the next 30 years until he retired at the ripe old age of 62 and a half. Joe and Bert spent their retirement years owning a shop in Smithville, traveling and enjoying life to the fullest. At 74, Joe embarked on one last adventure, moving to Kentucky to live the simple life in the idyllic beauty of the Blue Grass State.

Joe is predeceased by his brother Francis Olive. Joe is survived by his adoring wife, Alberta Olive; his two sons, John (Kimberly Olive) and Joey Olive (Zackary Binx); and his grandchildren, Joshua and Emily Olive.
