Althea B. Vaughn (Syd) formerly of Hammonton, N.J. and Stuart, Fla. passed away August 8, 2023, one month shy of her 99th birthday. She was born and raised in Glenview, Illinois and attended Northfield High School.
She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, Helen and Edward Saunders; her sister, Emily McHenry; grandson, Daniel Taraschke; son-in-law, Duke Taraschke; and her beloved husband, John W. Vaughn. She is survived by her three daughters, Charlotte Taraschke, Donna Artz (Alan Artz) and Deborah Vaughn Wright (Scott Wright); as well as five grandchildren, John Taraschke (Chris), Mary Jo Spack, Michael Taraschke, Amy Hulslander ( Michael), Matthew Taraschke (Aruna); and seven great grandchildren.
Althea will be remembered by her quick wit, spirit and love of family and friends. She will be interred next to John at the Greenmount Cemetery, Hammonton, N.J.
