Obituary

Joseph Chappine, 67, a child of the Living God, died October 21, 2023. Joe was born Feb. 6, 1956, at the “Esposito Home” and raised in Hammonton, though countless, joyful days were spent on Hay Street in Winslow with 15 cousins from the Chappine side of the family. With an additional 23 cousins on the Ingemi side, it is understandable that, to Joe, family was paramount. Joe attended St Joseph’s Elementary School until the 4th grade; then, went through the Hammonton school system. He lettered on the varsity football team three times and four times in Baseball. Graduating from HHS, in 1974, he deeply loved his classmates. Though he didn’t see them very often after graduation, he always thought of them as family. On August 20th, 1983, Joe married Sandra Gambardella, the love of his life and only woman he believed could possibly put up with him. While the successful business owner of a national insurance counselor staffing firm, Benefit Enrollment Specialists and Technology, Inc., Joe’s God and his family was his life. If Joe was with any member of his family, he was content.

Joe was predeceased by his father, Felice “Lee” and Rose (nee Ingemi) Chappine; his grandparents, Frank and Carmella (nee Marinucci) Chiappine and Joseph and Anna (nee Siligato) Ingemi. He was survived by wife, Sandra Gambardella; daughters, Alexsandra Chappine (Harry Bell) and Stephanie Weber (Lawrence), he was the devoted “Gpop Too Cool” of Noah Chappine, MacKenzie Bell, Teresa, Gianna, and Vincent Weber. Also survived by brothers, Lee Chappine (Sopika), Frank Chappine (Lorraine), Thomas Chappine (Patricia); and sister, Roseann Struble (Stephen); nephews, Dr Stephen Struble, LT Struble, Dylan Chappine, David Chappine, and Michael Bartolone; Nieces, Cathy (Jim) Mento, Jennifer Chappine, Rose Chappine and Rachel Hudak.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday October 26, 2023 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m. – 10 a.m. at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third Street Hammonton, NJ. Services will be held Friday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery 2398 Rt. 70 Cherry Hill, NJ.
