Louis John DeStefano Jr.

Louis John DeStefano Jr, 85, of Hammonton passed away on Friday, October 14, 2022 at home. Born in Hammonton he was a lifelong resident of the Hammonton and Nesco area.

Lou was an Air Force Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the Sons of Italy Lodge No. 1658 and the M.B Taylor Masonic Lodge No. 141 both in Hammonton. He coached for the Hammonton Little League and the Hammonton Hawks Football Program for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with clocks, and small engines, spending time on his property in Nesco and he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and crabber. Lou's greatest joy was spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Before retiring he worked as a flight engineer for the Federal Aviation Administration, where he was able to travel around the world for work projects.


Lou was predeceased by his beloved wife, Judith DeStefano; his grandchildren, Tyler and Logan. He is survived by his four children, Louis J. "Skip" DeStefano III (Daria), Steven B. DeStefano (Debbie), Laura DeStefano (Sal Genovese), John DeStefano (Michele); his seven grandchildren, Louis IV, Alexandra, Steven Jr (Michelle), David, Jenna, Jeffrey and Lucas; his four great grandchildren, Steven III, Giada, Mason and Jack. He is also survived by several loving sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.


A viewing was held on Tuesday, October 18, at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services took place. Burial followed at Atlantic County Veterans Cemetery, 109 Route 50 South, Mays Landing, N.J. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758516, Topeka, KS 66675-8516.
