Anthony J. “Drag” Ingemi

Anthony J. "Drag" Ingemi, 83, of Hammonton passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Cooper University Medical Center in Camden. Born and raised in Hammonton Drag moved with his family to Yardville, N.J. in 1966, and returned to live full time in Hammonton in 1999.

He worked as a General Freight Agent for Long Island Railroad before retiring in 1989. Drag enjoyed farming and gardening and he loved to spend time on his tractors. He was a member of the Santo Antonio Abbate Society. He also enjoyed going to breakfast with the boys, but his greatest joy was spending time with his family especially with his baby girl Gianna Marie.

Drag was predeceased by his bride, Miss Barbara Ingemi (nee Paltz); and his parents, John and Anna Ingemi. He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Annemarie I. and Frank Mazzei; his baby girl and granddaughter, Gianna Marie Mazzei; his sister, Nancy Garchinsky; his five nieces, Marianne Thornton (John), Teresa Benning (James), Patricia Garchinsky, Bernadette Janas (Victor) and Annette (Buffy) Garchinsky; his brother in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


A viewing was held on Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m. and Friday, January 20, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish Church of St. Joseph's, 226 French Street in Hammonton. Burial followed at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 124 S. First Road in Hammonton. In lieu of flowers family requests that you plant a garden or flowers in Drag's memory.
