Obituary


Agatha E. Cappuccio

Agatha E. Cappuccio, 98, of Hammonton, N.J., passed away peacefully Monday February 13, 2023 at home. She was born in South Egg Harbor, N.J., graduated from Egg Harbor City HS and later attended secretarial school in Atlantic City. After waiting for him for 3 years during WWII, Aggie married George Cappuccio in 1945, after the war, and lived in Hammonton ever since. They enjoyed a long and loving marriage for 77 years. She worked as a legal secretary for John Bertman and for the State of N.J. for many years. She also did volunteer work for St. Joseph's church. Agatha loved family gatherings and enjoyed many lifelong friendships. She and George were very active and loved ballroom dancing, country line dancing and playing cards.


Aggie is predeceased by her parents, Dalmazio and Maria Gladina (Marzo) Filo; one sister, two brothers and her grandson Matthew Wallace. She is survived by her husband, George Cappuccio Sr.; sons, George Cappuccio Jr. (Rebecca) and Dan Cappuccio (Barbara); her daughters, Jean Dougherty (Larry) and Diane Wallace (Bob). Loving grandmother of Melanie Wallace Boffa, George Cappuccio III, Mark Cappuccio, Christopher Dougherty, Anna Dougherty, and great grandmother to Wesley and Reed Cappuccio.


Relatives and friends were invited to attend her viewing Friday February 17, 2023 11 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service, at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N. Third St. Hammonton, N.J. 08037. Burial will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery 124 S. First Rd.
