Obituary

Anna Florence Giacobbe (nee Rogowski), 82, of Hammonton, N.J. passed away from vascular dementia surrounded by her family on April 16, 2023 in Freehold, N.J. Anna, born on July 9, 1940, was born in North Jersey and a long-time resident of Hammonton, N.J. Anna was a loyal employee of William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in the laboratory for over 30 years. During her active years, Anna attended many band competitions with the Milazzo’s, school functions for her children including class trips, sports and other activities, as well as last minute road trips which brought her to new places and restaurants. Anna was active with a bowling league and spent many weekends at the Ocean City beach or in the Atlantic City casinos with Joe, Betty and her aunts. Anna enjoyed time with her family and friends, especially time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and watching their activities. In her later years, Anna enjoyed time outside in the sun and listening to the birds and seeing the beautiful flowers. This is how we will remember her and spend time with her spirit.

Anna was predeceased by her husband, Joe Giacobbe (2016); son, Joey Giacobbe (2020); mother, Gloria Rogowski (nee Juliano); father, Albin Rogowski; stepmother, Margaret Rogowski (nee Graham); and brother, Sonny Rogowski. Anna is survived by her daughters, Gloria Burchill and her fiancée Greg Seres of Freehold, N.J and Margaret Matise and her partner, Matthew Latham of Raleigh, N.C.; her grandchildren, Jason, Eric, Joey (Raquel), Arianna (Andy), Tyler (Kailey), Anthony, Timothy, Jonathan, and Nicolas; step-grandchildren, Zack (Michelle), Vass and Sage; along with her great-grandchildren, Joey, Freya and Jenna. Anna held a special place in her heart for her extended “family”, the Milazzo’s of Hammonton, as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. The immediate family would like to thank everyone for always loving and respecting their mother, grandmother and friend. They would like to extend a special thank you to the excellent care and love given to Anna by Daisy Echevarria, Pikria “Mika” Botchorishvili, and Natia Chemia. The family extends their gratitude to Affinity Hospice for their loving care of Anna, as well as the memory care unit at The Jewish Home in Freehold, N.J.
