John J. Luca, affectionately known as Pop by his family, 76, of Hammonton passed away on February 14, 2024. Born in Hammonton, N.J., he was a lifelong Hammontonian. John was a member of the Town Zoning Board, coached Little League, and worked for many years at numerous casinos in Atlantic City as part of the Carpenters Union formerly known as Local 623 and now known as Local 255. Most knew him as "the carpet guy" as he had a passion for laying carpet. However, his true joy in life was his family, especially his grandchildren Jake and Mia. They were his best friends and together spent lots of quality time fishing, going to the shooting range, and enjoying fun lunch and dinner dates together.
John is predeceased by his wife, Joann (Bilazzo); his sister, Nancy (Luca) Mento; and his parents, Jennie and Peter Luca. John is survived by his daughter and best friend, Jessica Fisher and her husband Ian; his two grandchildren, Jake and Mia Fisher; and extended family.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Carnesale Funeral Home, 202 S. Third Street in Hammonton, where funeral services will take place at 12 p.m. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 500 N. White Horse Pike in Hammonton.
