Rosaria LaMazza

Rosaria LaMazza (nee Brunelli), 84, of Hammonton, N.J. passed away peacefully with her daughter Toni, daughter-in-law Lisa, and her two grandsons Brian and Matthew by her side on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at Virtua in Voorhees. Rosaria was born in San Michele, Messina, Italy and moved to Hammonton in December of 1959. She started working for William B. Kessler Clothing Company as a machine operator until its closure in 1982, and on the production line at Whitehall Labs for 15 years until its closure. She loved to cook, clean, garden, and watch Philadelphia sports teams, especially her favorite Philly, Alec Bohm. Rosaria adored her grandsons Brian and Matthew, especially during the feast of Our Lady of Mt Carmel. She enjoyed taking them to the carnival. She also frequently went to church here in Hammonton, N.J. and was devoted to Padre Pio and San Michele (Saint Michael, the Archangel)


She is predeceased by her husband, Giovanni “John” LaMazza; her son, Gaetano “Guy” LaMazza; her parents, Angelo and Giuseppina Brunelli; brothers, Adamo Brunelli, Antonino Brunelli, Guiseppe Brunelli (7 yrs.), and Guiseppe Brunelli (9 months). Also, her mother and father-in-law Gaetano and Antoniette LaMazza. Rosaria is survived by her daughter, Antonella “Toni” LaMazza of Hammonton; daughter in law, Elizabeth LaMazza of Pittsgrove; her grandsons, Brian and Matthew LaMazza both at home; her brother, Francecso Brunelli (Antonietta); sisters, Anna Puddu (Franco), Angelina Cuce, and Concettina Lombardo (Mario) all of Messina, Italy; sister-in-law, Flavia Repice LaMazza from Newport Beach, California; and brother-in-law, Cosimo LaMazza (Georgia) of Hammonton. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, here and in Italy. A special thank you to the nurses, aids, and techs at Virtua Hospital in Voorhees ICU Unit.


Relatives and friends were invited to attend her viewing Tuesday, June 11, 2024 from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, June 12 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., all at the Marinella Funeral Home 102 N Third St. Hammonton, NJ 08037. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at 11 a.m. at the St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Parish St. Joseph Church 3rd & French Streets Hammonton, N.J. Entombment followed in Greenmount Cemetery, 124 S. First Rd. Hammonton, NJ.
