HAMMONTON—Police arrested the same man—Alex Torres, 23, of Hammonton—for defiant trespass twice at the same location, the 100 block of E. Orchard Street, Hammonton Police Chief Kevin Friel said.

In the first instance, police received an unwanted person call at 12:55 p.m. on January 10, Friel said.

Police received a call that Torres had been previously told he was not permitted on the property, Friel said.

Torres was located by Officer William Kurz in the stairwell of the building, Friel said.

Friel said Torres was placed under arrest, transported to police headquarters for processing and charged with defiant trespass.

He was released pending a court date in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court, Friel said.

Kurz was the investigating and arresting officer, Friel said.

Torres was arrested a second time for defiant trespass on the 100 block of E. Orchard Street at 11:34 p.m. on January 16, Friel said.

Friel said Officer Dalton Scola was the investigating and arresting officer for the January 16 arrest of Torres.

In a separate incident, another arrest occurred on the 100 block of E. Orchard Street involving a different person, according to Friel.

At 2:42 a.m. on January 15, police were again called to Orchard Street, Friel said.

“We received a call of an unwanted person,” Friel said.

Anthony Hall, 26, of Hammonton had allegedly kicked a window and a door, causing damage, Friel said.

“He was charged with criminal mischief and trespassing and was released pending a court appearance in Hammonton Joint Municipal Court,” Friel said.

Friel said Officer Richard Carpo was the investigating and arresting officer.
