Richard (Rick) Caruso



Richard (Rick) Caruso, 69, of Suwannee, Ga. passed away on Tuesday, August 16, after a vigilant fight with lung cancer. He was a devoted and loving husband to Millicent (Giavelli) Caruso and cherished family friend of 40 years to Robin Klamfoth.


Rick was born on July 19, 1953 to Leonard and Elizabeth Caruso in Hammonton, N.J. After graduating from Hammonton High School, he moved to Florida and eventually to the Atlanta, Ga. area. Rick became a successful business owner of Southern Contract Services, a building services company.


Rick met his future wife in 1993, and they were married in 2008. They lived in Suwannee, Ga. and enjoyed road trips, antiquing on the weekends and traveling. Rick was very creative and spent time renovating and updating his homes over the years. As an animal lover, Rick had many beloved pets. He was a true friend and generously offered his time and expertise to anyone in need.


Rick is predeceased by his parents, Leonard and Elizabeth Caruso; son, Ricky; brothers-in-law, Abie, Jim and Bob; and his nephews, Jamie and Gary.


Rick is survived by his spouse, Millicent (Giavelli) Caruso; longtime family friend, Robin Klamfoth; sisters, Helen LoSasso, Evelyn Gulkow (Al), Dorothy Silipino and Rose Crescenzo; and his brother, Lenny Caruso (Beverly). He leaves many beloved nieces and nephews.


Services and burial at Greenmount Cemetery in Hammonton, N.J. were private and held at the convenience of the family.
